Dawid Kaszlikowski
Profession: photographer
In the beginning creation of pictures was just my passion. Surprising passion, which
became my job just accidently. What does photography mean to me?
Quite a challenging question. My easiest answer?
Real creation means torture, hard work for a photographer. That's the essence
of creation. So, when everything goes smoothly and easyly (during a
session) I get anxious, worrying about the results of my work.
It is also an addiction for me, a never- ending search for new
positions and subjects for my cameras. Fortunately as a climber I'm able to
work in places which are inaccessible to for ordinary photographers...
Extreme photography is the most precise description of the greater part of
Kaszlikowski's work. It says a lot about the circumstances in which the
photographs of StudioWspin came into existence.
Kaszlikowski rarely takes pictures in places typical for other photographers. The
extreme shoter hunts where other people put their cameras away.
High on mountain walls, forcing his way through the jungle or desert, he takes
pictures in the most incredible places... David usually climbs a wall before other
alpinists, carrying heavy equipment on his back in order to take original
photographs. He works using special rope combinations, sometimes in very
difficult positions, hanging upside down.
The results of his dangerous work are thousands of slides stored in the Studio Wspin
archives.
He works as a freelancer for the top Polish magazines and companies
